Prize “Apoio à Promoção da Cultura Científica 2021”

The Prize “Apoio à Promoção da Cultura Científica”, by University of Coimbra, was awarded to Rui Carrilho, with the Project “Bioplastics – in the Search of a Sustainable World”, involving UC researchers from CQC and CEMMPRE, along with the participation of Agrupamento de Escolas de Coimbra Centro and Agrupamento de Escolas de Ferreira do Zêzere. This science dissemination project intends to alert the community to the problem of the abusive use of conventional plastic materials in today’s society, which has led to severe environmental problems. It is intended to promote the discussion about possible solutions to this problem and to make known the innovative work developed by researchers from the University of Coimbra (UC), in the field of bioplastics development.
